Winter Weather Set for Weekend

Expectation of fairly widespread snow developing during the day Saturday and continuing through midday Sunday. Snow amounts over 6" are possible in some areas, maily east and south of Hastings, Nebraska. 

Strong north winds will gust over 30 mph causing blowing and drifting snow in many areas late Saturday night and Sunday. 

Light icing potential across north central Kansas and far southern Nebraska. Will be a mixture of light freezing  and frozen precipitation during the day Saturday. 

NOTE:  Snow amount forecasts will change with subsequent forecasts. While we do have a good handle on where we think the heavier snow will fall, amounts will vary quite a bit across the area.  Focus on the impacts to travel and events Saturday night and Sunday.
