St. Francis Achieves Level III Trauma Center Verification

Grand Island, NE-CHI Health St. Francis is pleased to announce it has once again received Level III Trauma Center verification from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma. This prestigious designation reflects the hospital's commitment to providing comprehensive trauma care to the community and signifies its adherence to the highest standards of trauma care. The verification is effective until January 9, 2028.

The ACS verification process is rigorous, evaluating a hospital's resources, capabilities, and performance in treating injured patients. St. Francis successfully demonstrated its ability to provide prompt assessment, resuscitation, surgery, intensive care and rehabilitation for trauma victims.

It’s a testament to the hard work, dedication and expertise of our entire medical team.”

The Level III Trauma Center designation ensures that residents of Grand Island and surrounding rural areas have access to timely and effective trauma care. Including collaboration with emergency medical personnel and outside facilities to reduce transport times, improve patient outcomes and survival rates.
