Sodbusters Edge Cranes
Hastings rallied from a six run deficit for its first win of the year, 9-8 at Grand Island on Wednesday. Bryce Anderson began the comeback with a solo homer in the third. The Sodbusters scored six runs on three hits in the fourth. Magnus Kapica began the rally with a homer and concluded it with an RBI single as Hastings sent 11 to the plate.
Jack Riley worked three innings of scoreless relief for the win. Spencer Schmidt earned the save in a game shortened to six innings due to rain.
Grand Island scored three in the first and five in the second. Anderson Shirm had his third two-run double in two games to pace the Fightin' Cranes.
The same teams meet Thursday in Hastings for a 7pm game.
