Soccer: Northwest Girls & Boys Down Aurora
(Grand Island, NE) - Two wins on the pitch for the Northwest varsity soccer teams on Monday night at Viking Field. The Northwest girls improved to 5-1 on the season with a 5-0 win over Aurora. The Viking girls have won five matches in a row since dropping the opening contest of the season vs Norris 6-2.
The Northwest boys picked up a 1-0 win over the Huskies. The Vikings have been in some close tight matches here lately wit the last three coming down to a 1-0 score. Falling 1-0 in overtime at Scottsbluff, coming back to Viking Field and defeating York 1-0 in overtime, and Monday night winning the one goal game over Aurora. Northwest is now 4-2 on the season.
The Viking girls next action will be on Tuesday, April 2nd traveling to Elkhorn to take on the Antlers in a girls match only. Then both teams will host Lexington on Thursday, April 4th.
