GRAND ISLAND, NE--CHI Health St. Francis, in collaboration with Nebraska Heart Institute, is hosting a heart-education session at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24 in Conference Room 2/3 at the hospital. Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Douglas Kosmicki will discuss “Reducing Cardiac Risk through a Low-Carb Diet (Part 2).”
Part of a new monthly series, this presentation is free and open to the community.
As long as it includes a variety of nutritious, whole, unprocessed foods, a low-carb diet can be good for heart health. It can help increase good cholesterol levels, and decrease blood pressure and triglyceride levels.
Dr. Kosmicki is a board certified interventional cardiologist practicing at Nebraska Heart.
