Northwest Volleyball Sweeps Crete


(Crete, NE) - The Northwest volleyball team swept the Crete Cardinals on Tuesday night 25-19, 25-9, 25-20. Freshman Ava Janulewicz would lead Northwest with 15 kills and 11 service points. Northwest was excellent from the service line throughout the night. The Vikings would have 7 ace serves in the match. Three aces would come from libero Jacey Knapp who would have 11 service points on the night. In the second set setter Kenna Bowman rattled off nine straight serves for the Vikings to jump on top with a 9-0 lead in route to a second set victory. Tessa Scheer would have 2 ace serves and 4 kills. Izzy Burhman would get into the mix offensively for Northwest with 6 kills. 

Crete falls to 1-6 with the loss and will return to action on Thursday, September 12th at Nebraska City. Northwest is now 5-4 on the season with all nine matches so far being on the road. The first home match for Northwest will be Thursday, September 12th hosting North Platte.
