(Grand Island, NE) - After losing their first game of the season to Aurora on Tuesday, the Northwest Viking softball team bounced back on Thursday night at the Vets Complex defeating Cozad by a final score of 14-0. Northwest would lead 3-0 after the bottom of the 1st inning. Northwest would blow the game open with 11 runs in the bottom of the third. Northwest in the half inning would get a solo home run from senior Reyse Zobel, the 37th homerun of her Northwest career. 

Libby Loman would get the start in the circle pitching three innings giving up just two hits and had 5 strikeouts on 47 pitches against 12 Haymaker batters. Northwest is now 16-1 on the season. Next on the schedule for the Vikings is to host their invite on Saturday, September 21st. Northwest will open up with Centura at 9:00 am. Game two is set to start at 10:45 am and game three at 1:00 pm from the Vets Complex in Grand Island. 

Northwest will then travel to York on Monday, Sept. 23rd to take on the Dukes. Listen live on 103.1 FM & 2dayfm1031.com. First pitch is set for 6:30 pm.
