Northwest Boys Soccer Season Ends In District Final

(Bennington, NE) - The Northwest boys soccer team saw its season come to an end on Saturday afternoon falling to Bennington by a final score of 5-0. The Badgers held a halftime lead of 2-0 then fired home three second-half goals to advance to state with an impressive record of 20-0. The Vikings who went 1-2 in the post-season got an opening-round win in the sub-district tournament defeating Kearney Catholic by a final score of 1-0 via a shootout. Northwest would then fall to Hastings in the sub-district championship 4-0. The power points fell in the Vikings' favor getting them into the district final round as the 15th seed with the trip to Bennington. Northwest ends the season with a record of 8-9.
State Soccer: Bennington will play Schuyler on Thursday, May 9th at 2:00 pm from Creighton Univeristy - Morrison Stadium.
