Merrick County New Year's Eve Pursuit
(Merrick County, NE) - At approximately 10:41 pm on Tuesday, December 31st, A Merrick County Deputy observed a grey Chevrolet Impala traveling westbound Highway 30 near County Road 22. The vehicle was observed making several traffic infractions and was operated in a reckless manner causing other motorists to maneuver quickly.
The Deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Highway 30 near County Road 23, when the vehicle failed to yield and accelerated speed in excess of 125mph. The driver of the vehicle continued to evade by traveling eastbound on Highway 30, traveling westbound on County Road Z, and attempted to turn on County Road 29, entered the southwest ditch of the intersection and rolled over.
The female driver was located inside the vehicle. The driver was identified as Mckenzie Hinderliter (22) of Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska.
There were several items in the vehicle that were determined to be controlled substances. It was also determined that the driver was operating the vehicle while her license was previously revoked.
Alcohol and narcotics are believed to be a contributing factor in this accident.
The driver was transported to a local hospital and then transported to Bryan Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska for minor injuries sustained during the accident.
An arrest warrant affidavit for the following charges has been filed, as Ms. Hinderliter will be back in Merrick County custody for the crimes she committed while in Merrick County.

1. Possession of Controlled Substances-(Felony)
2. Operate a Motor Vehicle to Avoid Arrest- (Felony)
3. Driving During Revocation- (Misdemeanor)
4. Obstructing a Police Officer- (Misdemeanor)
5. Willful Reckless Driving- (Misdemeanor)
6. Possession of Marijuana 1oz or Less- (Misdemeanor)
7. Possession or Use of Drug Paraphernalia- (Infraction)
8. Numerous Traffic Infractions
