Loper Wrestling To Host Largest Tournament In The Nation This Saturday

Kearney, Neb. - The 18th-ranked Nebraska Kearney wrestling team has its first home event of the 2023-24 season this Saturday (Nov. 18) at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds.

The 12th Annual Younes Hospitality Open (non-team scoring) begins at 9 a.m. and will wrap up around 7 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at the door or online for $10 (adults) and $5 (children and seniors 60 plus). Note a clear bag policy is used by the Fairgrounds. 

Over 700 wrestlers are expected to take part on 16 mats (down to 14 after several rounds), making this the largest college tournament in the country. The list includes NCAA Division I and Division II schools, NAIA institutions and many junior colleges. The event is open to all post high school wrestlers and there will be an "Amateur" and "Elite" brackets.
