Heartland United Way Announces  2025 Funding Opportunity

Grand Island, Neb. – The Heartland United Way is now welcoming inquiries from nonprofit organizations interested in becoming a United Way Community Partner. To qualify, applicants must be 501(c)(3) health and human service organizations located in Hall, Hamilton, Howard, or Merrick counties. Eligible nonprofits must have a board of directors, conduct an annual certified audit, have been in operation for at least two years, and deliver programs with measurable outcomes that strengthen the community. Priority for funding will be programs connecting individuals to the resources and opportunities they need to enhance health, expand youth opportunities, and strengthen financial security, all while fostering resilient and inclusive communities.

Qualified organizations will be invited to submit a Letter of Intent. If accepted, they will proceed to complete a full grant application. Letters of Intent are due by October 31, 2024, with funding for selected programs beginning in April 2025.

The Heartland United Way currently provides support to the following 19 Community Partners: Adult Education, American Red Cross, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys Town, Central NE Council on Alcoholism and Addictions, First Light Child Advocacy Center, Girl Scouts, Heartland CASA, Hope Harbor, Legal Aid, Literacy Council of Grand Island, Lutheran Family Services, Multicultural Coalition, Midland Area Agency on Aging, Scouting America, TeamMates of Grand Island, Third City Community Clinic, Willow Rising and YMCA.
