Grand Island Public Library Release - GIPL Launching School Year Programs
Grand Island, Neb. — School year programming is returning to the Grand Island Public Library with a lineup for children and teens beginning September 5. All programs are offered free of charge and no library card is required to attend. Pre-registration is also not required unless noted. Below are the programs being offered this year:
Baby & Toddler Lapsit // Ages 0-2
Songs, rhymes, stories and bounces for little ones and their caregivers
Fridays at 10:30 a.m. beginning September 6
Bookbop // Ages 0-5
Storytime with music and movement
Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. beginning September 10
Preschool Storytime // Ages 3-5
Storytime with craft
Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. beginning September 11
Pajamatime // Ages 0-11
Evening family storytime with craft
Mondays at 6:15 p.m. beginning September 9
**Please note this program is scheduled at a slightly earlier time of day than last year
Tween Program // Ages 10-13
First Thursdays of the month at 4:30 p.m.
Sept. 5: Make Marbleized Bookmarks (registration required)
Oct. 3: Harry Potter Potions
Teen Program // Ages 12-18
Scheduled on days GIPS schools are out of session. All programs are at 2:00 p.m.
Sept. 20: Perler Beads
Oct. 10: Dress Up Your Ramen (registration required)
Oct. 11: Haunted Gingerbread Houses
Teen Library Council (TLC) // Grades 6-12
First Tuesdays of the month at 4:30 p.m. starting September 3
Advise the library on teen programs and materials, help plan library programs, gain volunteer hours and more. Snacks will be provided.
Teen Anime and Manga Club // Ages 12-18
Third Tuesdays of the month at 4:15 p.m. starting September 17
Watch anime films and series and make crafts and treats
Sept. 17: Hotteok (sweet Korean pancake)
Oct. 15: Paper Bag Ninja Craft
