The contest will be limited to the first 25 single-family homes to sign up, with a registration deadline of Friday, December 13 at 5 p.m. Qualifying homes must reside within Grand Island city limits. Judging will take place from December 16-18, with a winner being crowned by the general public via social medial on Christmas Day, which is Wednesday, December 25! The winner will receive a $100 cash prize courtesy of the Grand Island Area Economic Development Corporation.
“What better way to ring in the holiday season than to have a fun Christmas light contest in the process,” Grand Island Recreation Superintendent Jeremy Bachmann said. “Over the years, we’ve noticed how well-decorated some homes in town are, and this contest can be a fun way to feature all that hard work!”
