GIPD: Two Seperate Strangulation Assaults Occur Friday
(Grand Island, NE) - On Friday January 7th Grand Island Police would respond to two different strangulation assault calls. At 5:15 pm Friday, Micheal Tafe was reported to have strangled Bryan Dorsey with his belt while at Crossroads, 1910 W 19th. Bryan reports he was unable to breath, had pain and had visual injury to his neck. A witness who broke up the altercation saw Bryan had the belt wrapped around his neck and being pulled by Micheal. Tafe was arrested for Strangulation and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony.
Friday night at 11:21 pm an Officer of the Grand Island Police Department responded to 2323 Bellwood Dr #137 for the report of a disturbance. It was advised that Rodrigo Diaz Garcia had thrown his girlfriend to the ground several times. It was said that while she was on the ground Rodrigo struck her in the face and used one hand to strangle her to the point she could not breath. Rodrigo Diaz Garcia was arrested for Domestic Assault 3rd Degree and Strangulation.
