GIPD Make it Click Campaign Final Numbers

Officers of the Grand Island Police Department participated in the statewide “MAKE IT CLICK” high visibility enforcement campaign from May 20 – June 2, 2024. GIPD Officers worked over 100 hours of overtime conducting selective traffic enforcement.  During this period of time, GIPD Officers conducted 422 traffic stops.  These traffic stops and routine police enforcement resulted in some of the following numbers (see attachments for full list of Warnings, Citations, and Arrests):

·         18 - Seatbelt violations

·         3 - child passenger safety restraint violations

·         15 - DUI alcohol arrests

·         2 - DUI drug arrests

·         4 offense of - Transporting child while intoxicated

·         1 - Open Alcohol arrest

·         7 – Reckless or Careless driving citations

These enforcement opportunities would not be possible without grant assistance from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
