GICC Sweeps Triangular
The Grand Island Central Catholic Softball team earned a pair of wins at the Smith Complex in Hastings.
The Crusaders overcame a slow starter for a 5-0 win over Hershey in the opener. Laura Blake's first career homer ignited the offense in the fourth. Shaylee Meiser went 2-3 with an RBI. Logan Rainforth went the distance.
Rainforth had the big blow in the 11-5 win over Hwy 6. She hit a two-out grand slam to give the Crusaders a 6-1 lead in the sixth. Rainforth went 2-3 and knocked in six while also picking up the win. Jacie Palik, and Meiser also had two hits.\
