GICC Football Hosts Malcolm Thursday Night


(Grand Island, NE) - The GICC football team will try to win the first two games of the season for the first time since doing so in 2018 season and again in 2019 as the Crusaders host Malcolm this Thursday night, September 5th. The Clippers come in with a 1-0 record after winning their week one game last week over North Bend Central 34-13. The Clippers last year went 9-2 losing a regular season match-up with Oakland Craig 28-20 on week three. Malcolm would find themselves in the quarterfinals of the C2 state playoffs only to see their season come to an end vs Fillmore Central falling 30-20. 

GICC defeated St Cecilia last week in Hastings at Duncan Field by a final score of 41-13. GICC last week had 323 total yards passing and 39 rushing attacks for 221 yards. The Crusaders would get four touchdown passes from quarterback Grayson Sack to wide receiver Graham Stava. GICC would have one rushing touchdown in the game from Axel Escalante. 

Malcolm at GICC will be played at Grand Island's Memorial Stadium. Thursday, September 5th. It's homecoming week for the Crusaders as they will have a home volleyball match vs St Cecilia first on the night at 6:00 pm at Crusaders Gym. The football game will have a kick-off at 7:30 pm.
