GICC Boys Down St Paul To End Regular Season 59-34

(Grand Island, NE) - The GICC boys basketball team closed down the regular season on Friday night with a home win over the St Paul Wildcats 59-34. The Crusaders led 33-20 at the half and continued to run away in the third quarter with a 45-30 going to the fourth.  

GICC picks up their 19th win to round out the regular season with a record of 19-4. The Crusaders will now host the C2-7 sub-district tournament starting on Monday, February 24th as Hi-Line takes on Heartland at 6:00 pm. The winner Monday night will match up with GICC on Tuesday, February 25th at 6:00 pm. The other semi-final will be at 7:30 pm with Thayer Central vs Wood River. St Paul with the loss slips to 7-14. The Wildcats will now take on Gothenburg on Monday, February 24th in the C1-9 sub-district tournament at Fillmore Central High School. The tip-off is set for 5:00 pm. Listen live on 96.5 FM & krgi.com. The winner of Monday's game will advance to a semi-final match-up on Tuesday night vs the host Fillmore Central at 5:30 pm. The second semi-final will have Centura vs Doniphan Trumbull at 7:00 pm.
