GICC Basketball Splits With Lincoln Christian

(Grand Island, NE)- The Central Catholic basketball teams hosted Lincoln Christian on Friday night at Crusader Gym. The girl's contest went to Lincoln Christian 65-25. LC is now 6-0 on the season. GICC slips to 2-3 going into the holiday break.

In the boy's game, GICC won 58-50. The Crusaders would trail 41-40 with 4:53 left in the fourth quarter. The two would then become tied at 43 all with 3:32 left in the game as GICC would then take over with back-to-back three-pointers by Braylon Wolfe that would spark a 15-7 run to end the game.

Lincoln Christian with the loss is now 3-3. Both LC teams will be back in action on Saturday, December 21st hosting Archbishop Bergan. GICC boys are now 3-2 and will be back in action on Saturday, December 21st at Hastings College taking on Bridgeport at 2:45 pm. GICC will host the Crusader Holiday Tournament on December 27th and 28th. On Friday GICC will battle North Platte St Pats at 6:00 pm & 7:30 pm. The other match-up for the first round will be Minden vs Superior. Games on Saturday will also be 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm.
