Drowning Death Under Investigation at Johnson Lake
Gosper County, NE - The Gosper County Sheriff's Office is investigating a drowning that occurred at Medo's Resort, located at Johnson Lake.
On June 22, 2026, at approximately 1AM, emergency responders were dispatched to the dock area at Medo's Resort in reference to a male subject found unresponsive in the water. Despite lifesaving efforts, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The deceased has been identified as a 76-year-old male resident of the Johnson Lake area. His name is being withheld at this time pending notification of family.
An autopsy has been ordered to determine the official cause of death. The incident remains under investigation; however, no foul play is suspected at this time.
