Creighton Women Run Away From Seton Hall, 72-56

Omaha, Neb. -- Connecting on a season-high 16 treys, Creighton Women's Basketball downed Seton Hall 72-56 on Wednesday, February 5.
The win moved Creighton to 19-4 on the season and 11-1 in BIG EAST action, while the Pirates fell to 16-6 overall and 8-3 in conference play.
A slow start for both squads saw Seton Hall holding a slim 10-9 lead with 2:26 remaining in the first quarter. Creighton closed the frame with eight straight points, getting a trifecta from senior Jayme Horan, a three-point play by junior Kiani Lockett and an interior bucket from senior Morgan Maly to give Creighton a 17-10 edge at the break.
Creighton and Seton Hall traded buckets for much of the second stanza, the Pirates closed the gap to five at 31-26 with 1:49 left in the half. The Bluejays delivered another surge to close out the half with a 7-0 run. This time it was senior Lauren Jensen dropping in the first five, then grad transfer Brooke Littrell drained two from the charity stripe as Creighton went to the locker room holding a 38-26 advantage.
After hitting nine treys in the first 20 minutes, Creighton knocked down six more treys in the first 15 minutes of the second half as Creighton pushed its lead to as much as 25 at 69-44 (5:38) and coasted to the 72-56 win.
Lauren Jensen led the Bluejays with 21 points, while Horan delivered 17 points. Maly closed the contest with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Brooke Littrell rounded out four in double figures with 10 points. Seton Hall got 11 points from both Savannah Catalon and Kaydan Lawson in the loss.
