Cats take underdog role into Wahoo for District final vs Bishop Neumann.
At the end of Monday's Sub-district softball finals. The St. Paul Wildcats wondered if their 13-5 loss to Kearney Catholic would be the end of the road for Seniors Charlee Wegner and Brooke Peetz. The Cats found themselves on the bubble sitting at 15th in powerpoints and as the day progressed, the odds improved that the Wildcats would find themselves playing in a district final. As the dust settled St. Paul stayed put at the 15th spot and punched their ticket to Wahoo for a date with the 27-3 Bishop Neumann Cavaliers in the C-2 District Final at Hackberry Park.
The Cavs had no problem in the C-2 Subdistrict as they pitched identical shutouts against Centennial and Freeman by final scores of 12-0 to win the Subdistrict.
Bishop Neumann is on a 6 game winning streak with their last loss coming on 9/28 vs Hastings 4-0 at the Crete invite. The Cavs so far this season have an 8 game winning streak and 3 seperate 6 game winning streaks. They've also beaten some of the best that Class C has to offer including the likes of Hastings St. Cecilia, GACC, Fort Calhoun, Twin River, and DC West.
