Carol Schooley Paintings on Display at Grand Island Public Library
Grand Island, Neb. — The Grand Island Public Library’s Art Alcove welcomes everyone to view artist Carol Schooley’s paintings this month through Sunday, September 8.
Carol Schooley’s Artist Statement:
I have always been involved with art even from a very early age,” Schooley said in a written statement. “I’ve lived close to nature all my life. I’m a gardener as well as having been a farmer for some years and the small details of the growth of plants as well as the beauty of the landscapes and the power in our natural world has influenced my art.
I taught art for many years at all levels and I believe it to be a source of strength for all humankind as it not only expresses and communicates our emotions but it develops our creativity in subtle ways both in artistic efforts and also in all of our endeavors.
I’m excited by the variety of choices I have as I travel this artistic road. I’m able to work ideas in 3-dimension as well as 2-dimension and there is such a variety of methods and materials to explore. I feel I’m always in a transition in my art and I’m not sure where it is taking me right now but there is always something new and fresh to be explored and shared. Art is life to me and life is everything to us all.
