Lincoln – Nebraska will be tested early and often as the Big Ten Conference released its 2024-25 men’s basketball schedule Thursday afternoon.

The Huskers’ 20-game slate opens with a pair of traditional powers with December matchups at Michigan State on Saturday, Dec. 7, and against Indiana on Friday, Dec. 13. The opener at Michigan State marks the eighth time in the last nine seasons Nebraska has opened Big Ten Conference play on the road. The Big Ten home opener against Indiana marks the fourth time the two schools have met in December since 2019, but the first December matchup in Lincoln.

January’s home schedule opens with one of the most anticipated matchups of the year, as the Huskers host UCLA on Saturday, Jan. 4. It marks UCLA’s first trip to Lincoln since the 1955-56 season and the first meeting as Big Ten teams. Other home highlights in January includes Rutgers (Jan. 16), a team that has two of the first three picks in ESPN.com’s NBA Draft board, the first visit by USC as a Big Ten member (Jan. 22) and a matchup with Big Ten Tournament champion Illinois (Jan. 30). NU’s road slate that month includes trips to NCAA runner-up Purdue (Jan. 12), Iowa (Jan. 7), Maryland (Jan. 19) and Wisconsin (Jan. 26).

In February, Nebraska has a trio of home games, including a Super Bowl Sunday matchup with Ohio State (Feb. 9) and contests against Maryland (Feb. 13) and Michigan (Feb. 24). The month also sees the Huskers make their first West coast swing to Oregon (Feb. 2) and Washington (Feb. 5) as well as games at Northwestern (Feb. 16) and Penn State (Feb. 19).

The Huskers close the season by hosting two of their final three games at Pinnacle Bank Arena. NU hosts Minnesota (March 1) and Iowa (March 9) with a trip to Ohio State on March 4 sandwiched in between. The game against Iowa will be the Huskers’ Senior Day and final regular-season game before the 2025 Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis from March 12-16.

Start times and network designations for all Big Ten and non-conference games is expected to be announced later this month.

Season tickets for the 2023-24 season start at $153 and can be purchased by visiting Huskers.com/Tickets or by calling the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office at 800-8-BIGRED during business hours (9 a.m.-4 p.m., Mon.-Fri.).  In addition, student season tickets for UNL students are also available for purchase. For more information on how to purchase student tickets, visit Huskers.com/students.

The Huskers return three starters from a team that went 23-11 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014. Seniors Brice Williams and Juwan Gary anchor a Husker attack that returns seven letterwinners and adds seven transfers for the upcoming season for Big Ten Coach of the Year Fred Hoiberg.
