Big 2nd Quarter gives Cats 2nd win of season

The St. Paul Wildcats picked up their 2nd win of the season in dominating fashion over the Fairbury Jeffs 46-6 at Wildcat Field Friday Night. The scoring got started in the first quarter as St. Paul scored their first points in the first quarter this season as Quarterback Alex Meineke would find Levi Bader for a 12 yard touchdown catch with :42 left in the first quarter.

The 2nd quarter saw the Cats put a season high 25 points on the scoreboard starting with a safety with 8:11 to go as a St. Paul sack in the endzone would tack on 2 points to make it 9-0. On the ensuing possession St. Paul would add to their lead with Meineke's 2nd passing touchdown of the contest as he would find Kyler Sack for a 25 yard score to make it 17-0 following the PAT. The Wildcat defense would get in on the scoring as back to back Pick sixes of 32 and 45 yards apart by Gage Sack and Alex Meineke to extend the lead up to 30-0 a minute apart from each other with 4:10 to go in the 2nd quarter. Special teams would get involved for the final 2 points of the 2nd with another safety as the snap for a punt would go out of the endzone to make it 32-0 going into the Half. 

Bader would get his 2nd touchdown reception of the game with 5:33 to go in the 3rd to give the Cats a running clock after a 39-0 lead. The scoring would end for St. Paul as Cody Kuszak would get an 18 yard touchdown run to make it 46-0. Fairbury would score late but would not make a difference as St. Paul would earn the win with a complete win in all 3 facets of the game.

Alex Meineke earns Runza player of the game honors with 3 TD passes and a pick 6. The Cats will head to Central City to  take on the Bison next friday. They led Pierce late but fell 48-35. Pump and Pantry pregame show at 6:30 with Kickoff at 7.
