Aurora Splits Games in Ashland


The Aurora boys will shoot for third place at the Ashland Greenwood Holiday tourney while the girls try for the title on Saturday. Coverage begins at 11:45am on 97.3 the Wolf. You can hear interviews with coaches Kelly Krueger and Scott Phillips

Aurora Girls 39, Ashland Greenwood 33 OT
Adi Farhnbruch nailed a three pointer in the final five seconds of regulation and Aurora dominated the overtime in the win over the host Bluejays. The rally salvaged a great defensive performance that saw the Huskies hold the Jays without a field goal over the final 12 minutes of the game.  Denae Nachtial scored 15. Fahrnbruch added 12 for Aurora. The Huskies play Omaha Roncalli for the title on Saturday at 1:30.

Ashland Greenwood 44, Aurora Boys 27
The two time defending C1 state champ Bluejays used a pair of  13-0 runs in the first half and never trailed. Ashland Greenwood led 29-10 at the intermission. Neither team got much going offensively as both team had a season low in points scored. Booker Sheierman scored 13 for Aurora. The Huskies play Omaha Gross in the consolation game Saturday at noon.
