(Aurora, NE) - An instant classic between two rivals on Tuesday night saw the Aurora Huskies defeat the Northwest softball team by a final score of 4-3. The two starting pitchers would go back and forth in the first four innings as the game would be scoreless going to the fifth inning. Zoe Johnson for Aurora would toss a two-hitter for the Huskies. The Vikings would get their first hit and runs of the contest in the top of the fifth inning on a 2 RBI single by Reyse Zobel. Aurora would come back and score a run in the bottom of the fifth on a wild pitch to Zoe Johnson on a full count pitch from Gracyln Simmons scoring Adi Fahrnbruch from third base. Fahrnbruch would get to third base on a three-base throwing error to start the bottom of the fifth.

After a scoreless sixth, Northwest would add one run in the top of the seventh inning which would lead to the bottom of the seventh and the last chance for Aurora. The Huskies would Adi Fahrnbruch and Hannah Janda aboard with no outs. Both runners would be parked at first and second. Zoe Johnson would try to bunt them over to third and second but the bunt would hang in the air down the first base line falling into the glove of Laiken Dorsey for the first out.
